Mostly, yes. Here's why our suggestion box lives there anyway — and what it costs you.
You get to watch it get built
Your idea sits where the work happens, so when someone builds it the code attaches itself to your page — you can watch it written, reviewed, and land in a release.
The ordinary things leave a trail
We can moderate our own tracker — any owner can. What GitHub gives you is a record of the everyday moves: an edited comment keeps an edit history anyone can open, and a closed idea shows who closed it and when. The exception is deletion: an owner can remove a thread outright, and then only our word stops us. We'd rather name that gap than let you find it.
The vote counts are checkable
A vote is a thumbs-up from a GitHub account. When we say something was the most-wanted idea, you can count it yourself in about four seconds — rather than take our word for it.
We'd rather not know who you are
We never ask for your email, because we keep no list to put it on. GitHub already handles who's who, and that one free account works for every other open project you'll ever want to talk to. For a project about not watching people, running the suggestion box on a mailing-list harvester would be a bit rich.
